Job Summary
Provide one-on-one care to youth and young adults when primary caregivers are unavailable, ensuring their safety and well-being while promoting mental alertness through therapeutic activities. Assist with daily living activities including personal hygiene, ambulation, and household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and running errands. Prepare and maintain records of client progress, reporting changes to supervisors, and instruct clients on household management, nutrition, and hygiene. Participate in case reviews and attend required in-service training while adhering to all agency policies. Requires a valid driver's license, automobile, and proof of insurance; must pass a criminal background check and provide three references. High school diploma required with two years of experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a strong service orientation, including active listening, critical thinking skills, and close monitoring of clients
- Minimum of three references required
- Must have an automobile and a valid driver's license
- Must have proof of car insurance
- Pass a criminal background check including fingerprinting
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prolonged periods of standing, bending and lifting
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
