Job Summary
Provide one-on-one care to youth and young adults when primary caregivers are unavailable, ensuring their safety and well-being. Assist with daily living activities including personal hygiene, ambulation, and housekeeping duties such as cooking, cleaning, and running errands. Promote mental alertness through engaging activities and offer emotional support to clients and household members. Prepare and maintain records of client progress and report changes to management. Adhere to agency policies and attend required in-service training. This role supports families with children and teens with developmental and intellectual disabilities by offering therapeutic activities and relief for primary caregivers.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a strong service orientation, including active listening, critical thinking skills, and close monitoring of clients.
- Minimum of three references required
- Must have an automobile and a valid driver's license
- Must have proof of car insurance
- Pass a criminal background check including fingerprinting
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
