Job Summary
Provide one-on-one care to youth and young adults when primary caregivers are unavailable, ensuring their safety and well-being. Assist with daily living activities including personal hygiene, ambulation, cooking, cleaning, and household errands. Offer simple emotional support, promote mental alertness through engaging activities, and instruct clients on nutrition and hygiene. Maintain records of client progress, report condition changes to supervisors, and participate in case reviews and in-service training. Adhere to all agency policies and complete required background checks. Requires a valid driver's license, automobile, and insurance.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a strong service orientation, including active listening, critical thinking skills, and close monitoring of clients
- Minimum of three references required
- Must have an automobile and a valid driver's license
- Must have proof of car insurance
- Pass a criminal background check including fingerprinting
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prolonged periods of standing, bending and lifting
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
Desired Qualifications
- More than two years or experience preferred
