Job Summary
Provide one-on-one care to youth and young adults when primary caregivers are unavailable, ensuring their safety, well-being, and mental alertness through therapeutic activities. Assist with daily living activities including personal hygiene, ambulation, cooking, cleaning, and running errands. Prepare and maintain records of client progress and services performed, reporting changes in condition to supervisors. Instruct clients on household cleanliness, utilities, hygiene, nutrition, or infant care. Participate in case reviews, attend required in-service training, and adhere to agency policies. Maintain an automobile with valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a strong service orientation, including active listening, critical thinking skills, and close monitoring of clients
- Minimum of three references required
- Must have an automobile and a valid driver's license
- Must have proof of car insurance
- Pass a criminal background check including fingerprinting
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
- Must possess the capability for prolonged periods of standing, bending and lifting
