Job Summary
Provide one-on-one care to youth and young adults when primary caregivers are unavailable, ensuring their safety, well-being, and mental alertness through therapeutic activities. Assist with daily living activities including personal hygiene, ambulation, cooking, cleaning, and household errands. Prepare and maintain records of client progress, reporting condition changes to supervisors. Instruct clients on hygiene, nutrition, and infant care while attending required in-service training. Adhere to all agency policies and participate in case reviews to evaluate client needs.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a strong service orientation, including active listening, critical thinking skills, and close monitoring of clients.
- Minimum of three references required
- Must have an automobile and a valid driver's license
- Must have proof of car insurance
- Pass a criminal background check including fingerprinting
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
