Job Summary
Respite Care Provider needed to deliver hands-on childcare and respite support for children within 15–20 miles of home. Responsibilities include creating meaningful, age-appropriate activities, maintaining safety and structure, being a positive role model, and engaging children through play, crafts, and adventures. Compensation includes competitive hourly pay ($20.00–$22.00/hour) with additional acknowledgment for siblings, plus paid training and professional development. Must be 18+, have reliable vehicle and driver’s license, CPR/First Aid certification (or willing to obtain with reimbursement), and be able to work shifts of at least 4 hours (evenings often requested). Location: Burbank, CA; in-person care with a focus on safety and supportive caregiving within an active, kid-centered environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age 18 years
- CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain (reimburse)
- At least 1 year of childcare experience (special needs experience a plus)
- Able to provide 3 references: 2 childcare-related and 1 character reference
- Reliable vehicle + valid driver’s license
- Available for shifts of at least 4 hours
- Comfortable working with children ages 6 months–12+ years
- Must be able to lift 35 lbs, be active, and react quickly to ensure child safety
- Active, kid-centered environment with play and activities
- Some time spent outdoors, weather permitting
- Must be able to remain calm and effective in emergent situations
