Job Summary
Supervise personnel and oversee daily operations of the Respiratory department at Gulf Coast Medical Center. Assist the director in hiring, orienting, coaching, and counseling employees while recommending and implementing policies and procedures. Coordinate equipment maintenance, performance improvement, and quality control activities, and manage supplies and payroll to operate within the department budget. Observe staff activities for competency evaluations, perform annual evaluations for direct staff, and mentor lead Respirapists. Participate in the interview process for new hires, delegate daily assignments, and represent the department on campus committees. May perform bedside Respiratory Therapist duties as needed. This role requires a Bachelor's degree, five years of clinical experience, and Florida RRT licensure. Shifts run from 6:00 PM to 4:00 AM with flexible Monday through Thursday scheduling options.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree
- Minimum of 5 years clinical experience including all intensive care/critical care areas
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the State of Florida
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- ACLS
- PALS
- NRP
- Credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Must be credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care as RRT-ACCS
