Job Summary
Provide respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing and ventilation support for inpatients and outpatients from neonatal to geriatric ages. administer and manage RT-CRT setups, monitor and wean oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation, draw/analyze/report arterial blood gases and perform EKGs. Deliver intermittent therapy and assist with changing artificial airways in accordance with physician orders and established policies. Maintain accurate documentation of all clinical information, demonstrate data-entry skills, and ensure compliance with safety and privacy standards. Preferred candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree and current Respiratory Therapist license with NBRC RRT certification; must be proficient with Windows applications and role-specific software and able to travel between facilities and support flexible scheduling.
Required Qualifications
- Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
- Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and data entry
- Proficiency with role-specific software packages
- Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures per policies
- Documents and reviews clinical information for each patient
- Assesses psycho/social, educational, safety criteria appropriate to patient age
- Compliance with organization's policies and standards of conduct
- Ability to travel between facilities
- Ability to work a flexible schedule (24/7, weekends, holidays, on call)
- Understanding of exposure to infectious hazards and hazardous waste
