Job Summary
The Respiratory Care Practitioner II (RCP II) / Respiratory Therapist (RRT) delivers respiratory therapy treatments and pulmonary diagnostic services in an acute care setting, including assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of care across all patient populations. Responsibilities include administering respiratory therapy treatments (oxygen, aerosol, airway management), managing ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow oxygen systems; performing pulmonary diagnostics (ABGs, PFTs); implementing patient-specific respiratory care plans; documenting care in the EMR; responding to code blue and rapid response events; collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support patient outcomes; may serve as Lead RCP during assigned shifts.
Required Qualifications
- State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required
- Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the NBRC required
- 2 years experience as an RCP preferred
- ACLS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current
- NRP certificate preferred
- PALS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current
- Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
