Job Summary
Assist Respiratory Therapists in patient care under direct supervision by performing clinical duties, conducting orientation, assessment, and evaluation, and documenting patient-related tasks. Adapt communication styles to diverse patient populations while maintaining respect for privacy and obtaining necessary permissions. Support hospital administration by adhering to established policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding patient safety and privacy. Maintain professional knowledge and required certifications through ongoing growth and development. Requires BLS certification, computer proficiency for data entry, and ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and on-call availability. Must be able to travel between facilities and perform heavy physical duties involving lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information
- Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Self-directed including the ability to work independently and with supervision
- Effective planning, organizing and time management skills
- Must be able to travel throughout and between facilities
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule (24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability)
- Must be able to lift 100 pounds of force occasionally
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds of force frequently
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds of force constantly
- Must be able to work in an area where patients enter
- Must be able to work directly with patients
- Must be able to work with specimens that could contain communicable diseases

Desired Qualifications
