Job Summary
Provide respiratory care modalities within non-critical care units for all patient populations, demonstrating clinical competency in assessed respiratory status and equipment proficiency. Deliver therapies tailored to growth and development needs of unique client populations while utilizing evolving respiratory care technology. Complete required orientation, competency validations, and in-services as mandated by the department and hospital. Maintain current state licensure where applicable and adhere to Sanford's drug-free workplace policy and background screening requirements. This flexible schedule supports RT students working in the clinical setting during their formal training.
Required Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in an American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) endorsed program of Respiratory Care
- Must have verification from the program of skills in which competency has been demonstrated
- Must complete orientation and other competency validations and in-services as required by the department and hospital
- Must have a current applicable state license for Respiratory Care Practitioner if working in a state where licensure is required
- Must be able to work with growth and development needs of unique client populations
- Must possess the skills necessary to assess the respiratory status of patients of all ages
- Must understand and demonstrate proficiency in all respiratory care equipment used and therapies performed
- Must be able to learn and utilize new technology as the state of the art of respiratory care evolves
