Job Summary
Provides bedside support to the respiratory therapist by ensuring equipment is clean, available, properly assembled and in working and operable condition. Participates in supportive patient care tasks for safe, timely, and effective care. Assists the respiratory therapist with routine and emergent care; assembles, calibrates and prepares ventilators and other respiratory equipment; cleans and restocks supplies; monitors and communicates ventilator settings and patient information; assists with nasal swabbing and mask fitting; supports patient positioning and other tasks as directed. Requires High School Diploma/GED; students in accredited respiratory therapy program with at least 1 semester completed; ability to lift 40-50 lbs; day shift; per diem schedule.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Students enrolled in an accredited respiratory therapy program who have successfully completed 1 semester of core respiratory therapy curriculum
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Organizational skills needed to plan, schedule and complete tasks
- Physical Demands Lift and carry 40-50 lbs.
- Frequent to continuous standing/walking.
