Job Summary
Respiratory Therapists provide day-shift respiratory care, operating devices such as mechanical ventilators and gas administration systems, and ensuring therapy parameters (volume, gas concentration, humidity, temperature) meet orders. They administer medications via aerosol delivery, monitor vital signs, assist patients with breathing exercises, supervise equipment performance and safety, document patient charts, inspect and test equipment, and coordinate with physicians on adverse reactions. The role includes demonstrating procedures to trainees and maintaining licensure as a State Respiratory Care Practitioner. Must have completed an approved respiratory therapy program and hold an active state license.
Required Qualifications
- One to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- The completion of an approved school for respiratory therapy.
- Active State Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
