Job Summary
Ventilator-support-focused Respiratory Therapist delivering specialized respiratory care to ventilator-dependent patients in home and alternate care settings. Responsibilities include clinical assessments of ventilator patients, care plan reviews, discharge planning, patient/caregiver education on ventilator units and equipment use, ongoing clinical follow-up with physicians and referral sources, in-service presentations for hospital staff and providers, accurate documentation to support quality tracking, regulatory compliance, and reimbursement, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Requires travel as part of a field/office role; on-call rotation and adherence to HIPAA, PPE, infection control, and company compliance policies. Strong communication, problem-solving, and technical aptitude with respiratory equipment and regulatory requirements are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program
- One (1) year of clinical experience as a Nurse with ventilator exposure, Healthcare Respiratory Therapist or HME Respiratory Therapist
- Valid and unrestricted Respiratory Therapist license in all states serviced by the branch
- CPR certification
- Valid and unrestricted driver’s license
