Job Summary
The Respiratory Therapist Vent is a Field Clinician who delivers specialized respiratory care to ventilator dependent patients in home and alternate care settings. Core responsibilities include maintaining advanced knowledge of respiratory equipment and ventilators, performing clinical assessments and reassessments, participating in discharge planning for ventilator-dependent patients, instructing patients and caregivers on equipment use, providing clinical follow-up with physicians and referral sources, conducting in-services for hospital staff, maintaining complete patient records, ensuring documentation supports quality tracking and regulatory compliance, utilizing continuing education to expand competencies, promoting AdaptHealth through program development and engagement with referral sources, acting as a clinical resource within interdisciplinary teams, ensuring timely verbal and written communication related to patient care, and participating in on-call rotations. Travel is involved; work is field-based with in-office components.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program
- One (1) year of clinical experience as a Nurse with ventilator exposure, Healthcare Respiratory Therapist or HME Respiratory Therapist
- Valid and unrestricted Respiratory Therapist license in all states serviced by the branch
- CPR certification
- Valid and unrestricted driver’s license
