Respiratory Therapist

Perform direct patient care on the patient care floors while participating in daily operational activities. Demonstrate competency and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Train, educate, and set up education for current and new staff in the Respiratory Service Area. Maintain constructive communication with patients, families, physicians, and the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care. Following competency validation, perform diagnostic cardiology procedures including EKG, stress tests, and pulmonary function testing. Draw arterial blood gases, run samples, control daily maintenance, and troubleshoot analyzers per Joint Commission/CAP/CLIA regulations. Attend Trauma, Code Blue, and Rapid Response Team emergencies, assisting with airway establishment and maintenance. Give and receive feedback, incorporate it into work, and provide input for employee performance reviews. Identify and resolve clinical and interdepartmental problems while modeling organizational values.
