Respiratory Therapist

Respiratory Therapist at UHN providing 24/7 respiratory therapy to patients across ICU, Emergency, Operating Rooms, Post Anesthetic Care, and other units. Duties include airway management, responding to cardiac/respiratory arrest and trauma, intra- and inter-hospital patient transports, administering aerosolized/MDI medications, serving as a resource for nursing and allied health staff, teaching patients to use respiratory equipment for hospital and home use, performing diagnostic tests (bedside spirometry, oxygen saturation, blood gas analysis), administering oxygen and other medical gases, assisting with bronchoscopy, and managing ventilated patients per departmental protocols; collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care. Requires graduation from an accredited respiratory therapy program, provincial professional registration, and demonstrates ability to work with minimal supervision. Hyperbaric medicine experience preferred. Communicates effectively and pursues ongoing professional development.
