Job Summary
Assess patients for appropriate treatment frequency and develop care plans based on diagnosis. Administer prescribed respiratory therapies, including ventilator support, oxygen delivery, and blood gas sampling. Monitor and document patient respiratory status, escalate care changes, and respond to medical emergencies and rapid response events. Educate patients and families on health conditions and assist with equipment calibration and maintenance. Work in high-acuity environments requiring constant alertness and independent clinical judgment.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT)
- Minimum of 2 years of recent critical care experience preferred
- Emergency Room (ER) experience preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in mechanical ventilation, airway management, and critical care respiratory therapies
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in high-stress, high-acuity clinical environments
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and documentation skills
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Respiratory Care Practitioner, Registered - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Respiratory Care Practitioner - Missouri Division of Professional Registration
- Respiratory Educ Permit - Missouri Division of Professional Registration
- Respiratory Care Practitioner - Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent years of experience and education
