Job Summary
Provides evaluation of and care for respiratory therapy patients; administers prescribed respiratory therapeutic services; assesses patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment; develops and implements a plan of care; monitors patient condition and equipment; educates patient and family; responds to medical emergencies; handles equipment calibration/maintenance and inventory; participates in sterilization procedures; works variable shifts; requires Associate’s degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent. Licensed as required in IL, MO, OK, WI with NBRC RRT and state respiratory care practitioner credentials; BLS HCP certification. PRN employment in a hospital setting.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent years of experience and education.
- State of Work Location: Illinois – BLS HCP, NBRC RRT, Respiratory Care Practitioner (IDFPR)
- State of Work Location: Missouri – BLS HCP, NBRC RRT, Respiratory Care Practitioner or Respiratory Educ Permit
- State of Work Location: Oklahoma – BLS HCP, NBRC RRT, Respiratory Care Practitioner or Provisional Respiratory Care Therapist or related license
- State of Work Location: Wisconsin – BLS HCP, NBRC RRT, Respiratory Care Practitioner
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - NBRC
- Respiratory Care Practitioner - state boards (IDFPR, Missouri DPPR, OK Medical Board, Wisconsin DSPS)
