Respiratory Therapist – Ventilator Support delivers specialized respiratory care to ventilator-dependent patients in home and alternate care settings, combining hands-on patient care, education, and collaboration with physicians and care teams to support safe, coordinated, high-quality outcomes outside the hospital. Responsibilities include ventilator management, clinical assessments and reassessments, discharge planning, instructing patients and caregivers, follow-up with physicians and referral sources, in-service education, maintaining HIPAA/compliance, accurate documentation, and participation in on-call rotations. Requires licensure, CPR, an associate degree in respiratory care, and relevant clinical experience; strong communication, technical, and problem-solving skills, plus ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and navigate regulatory requirements.
