Job Summary
Provide specialized respiratory care to residents in a Skilled Nursing facility, including ventilator and oxygen management, nebulizer therapy, CPAP/BiPAP, and pulmonary rehab. Perform respiratory assessments, administer prescribed treatments, maintain and operate respiratory equipment, participate in care plans and interdisciplinary rounds, educate nursing staff on equipment and emergency procedures, assist with weaning protocols, respond to respiratory emergencies, and ensure accurate documentation and infection-control standards while promoting safety and compassionate care.
Required Qualifications
- Active NBRC Credentials
- Active Oregon Respiratory Care Practitioner state licensure
- Active BLS Certification
- Strong understanding of geriatric care and the needs of elderly residents
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks with attention to detail
- Compassionate, patient-focused, and empathetic approach to care
