Job Summary
Perform comprehensive chest assessments and respiratory examinations for a diverse resident population. Consult with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop, evaluate, and modify individualized treatment plans. Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy, while managing and monitoring ventilator-dependent residents. Conduct regular monitoring of residents' respiratory status and ensure proper functioning of respiratory equipment. Perform diagnostic testing, including lung capacity measurements and evaluation of blood gas levels. Educate residents and families on respiratory treatments, equipment use, and medication administration. Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, assessments, and resident progress in accordance with clinical standards.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care
- Current state licensure
- Experience with tracheostomy care and ventilator management in a skilled nursing facility, LTACH, or hospital setting
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of respiratory therapy experience
