Job Summary
Conduct respiratory care procedures under general supervision, including patient/family assessments, administering aerosolized medications, and managing artificial ventilators. Perform airway care, troubleshoot mechanical ventilators, and administer modalities such as chest physical therapy, deep tracheal suctioning, and incentive spirometry. Monitor resident cardiopulmonary status using physical assessments and laboratory findings to formulate care plans per physician orders. Document all services, chart vital signs, and communicate pertinent information to the nursing team. Provide in-service training to residents, family members, and facility staff while participating in interdisciplinary rounds and quality assurance programs. Maintain equipment through inspection, cleaning, and preventive maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- A Respiratory Therapist must have a high level of knowledge of respiratory therapy and practice required through completion of a NBRC approved and accredited program
- one year of clinical practice experience under medical direction
- Must have a current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
- current State Licensure for a Respiratory Care Practitioner
- Therapist is required to be CPR certified
