Job Summary
Provides advanced evaluation, stabilization, and critical care management for patients aged 0-17 during interfacility transport by rotor-wing, fixed-wing, or ground ambulance, including extremely preterm infants; performs airway management (including intubation and tracheostomy care), initiates and manages mechanical ventilation (invasive and non-invasive), communicates with Medical Control and team members, maintains equipment and supplies, adheres to infection control/quality initiatives, documents patient care, and can operate across transport modalities. Requires an Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy, NBRC RRT credential, BLS/ACLS/NRP/STABLE/PALS certifications, a valid driver’s license, 3 years inpatient/ED experience with NICU/PICU exposure, and state licensure. Location: Greenville, SC; Part-time shift. The role emphasizes respiratory therapy duties during neonatal-pediatric critical care transport.
Required Qualifications
- Education - Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy
- Graduate of a school for Respiratory Therapy approved by the American Medical Association or a successor accrediting authority
- Three (3) years of inpatient and/or ED experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least two (2) years of Level III NICU and PICU experience
- Licensed to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in the state the team member is working
- RRT from NBRC (credentials must be maintained)
- BLS, ACLS, NRP, STABLE and PALS
- Advanced specialty certification within two (2) years of hire
- A valid driver’s license; an acceptable motor vehicle record
