Job Summary
Provide respiratory care services including assessing patient needs, monitoring oxygen saturation, managing ventilators, and documenting treatments on patient charts. Test patients for clinical needs, communicate with physicians and staff regarding care issues, and resolve routine problems. Assist with regulatory compliance by ensuring proper equipment storage and documentation, while handling routine mail, phone calls, and filing. Complete Treatment Authorization Requests monthly and participate in special projects as directed. Work independently to assess decannulation and weaning requirements while maintaining confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- A CRT or RRT license
- A graduate of an AMA approved school for respiratory care
- Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in the state employed
- Valid CPR certification
Desired Qualifications
- One year of respiratory therapy experience preferred in a long-term care setting
- Vent Certified
