Job Summary
The Respiratory Therapist (RT) position is responsible for providing in-patient respiratory therapy for patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics across various departments including critical care and the emergency department. Key responsibilities include patient education, participating in trauma and code blue teams, evaluating chest X-rays for tube placement, and performing respiratory interventions such as EKG’s and ABG’s. Candidates must hold the required credentials and licensure, possess 2 years of experience, and be proficient in clinical respiratory procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) accredited School of Respiratory Care
- NBRC RRT and NRP Credentialed required
- State Licensure as a Respiratory Therapist
- 2 years of experience required
- BLS, ACLS and PALS through the American Heart Association with card in-hand before start date
- NRP with card in-hand before start date
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in ventilator management including APRV, AVAPS and BIPAP weaning
- Familiarity with electronic medical record keeping systems (Meditech)
