Job Summary
Primary Respiratory Therapist duties include setting up and operating respiratory care equipment for diagnosis/treatment in a sub-acute unit, administering prescribed therapies (IPPB, oxygen devices, nebulizers), performing chest physical therapy, ventilator operation and monitoring, maintaining ventilation during CPR, documenting treatments and resident responses, rounds to check equipment, and collaborating with nursing/clinical leadership. Requires CA Respiratory Care License, active BLS, graduation from an accredited program, and ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school
- Current, verifiable Respiratory Care License in the State of California
- Successful completion of facility ventilator class
- Current Basic Life Support Certification
- Available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings
- OBRA and Title XXII guidelines knowledge for LTC
- Knowledge of long-term care resident needs
- Spoken language: Spanish helpful but not required
- Background check, fingerprints, TB test, physical, ongoing training, and maintaining an active certificate in good standing
