Job Summary
Performs patient assessments and procedures related to the diagnosis and treatment of patients with cardiopulmonary disorders. Implements therapist-driven protocols, administers medications, and evaluates patient response to therapies. Documents performance and results of therapies in accordance with policy and procedures (including NICU transport). Maintains the Order Entry and Charging system for services rendered. Assists with data collection and CQI initiatives within the Respiratory Care Department. Supervises and assists in training new employees and students. Cleans, assembles, maintains, and troubleshoots respiratory care equipment; participates in the CPR team. Supports organizational commitments to quality and patient-centered care.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Completed Level I and II therapist competency requirements
- Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure by the State of Michigan
- Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the NBRC
- At least six (6) months of clinical experience as a Respiratory Therapist
- BCLS certification
