Job Summary
Independently perform respiratory care procedures by interpreting physician orders, assessing patient needs, delivering prescribed therapy, and evaluating patient response. Execute invasive procedures with minimal supervision and provide minor assistance in patient care units and critical care areas. Serve in a consulting role by communicating suggestions to the clinical team regarding respiratory care delivered to patients across all hospital areas. Respond promptly to changes in workload and adjust assignments to achieve optimal productivity, efficacy, and quality patient care. Requires current Kansas respiratory therapy license, Registered Respiratory Therapist credential, and Basic Life Support certification.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care from an accredited program
- Current Kansas respiratory therapy license
- Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the NBRC
- Basic Life Support certification from either American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Health Care Provider or Basic Life Support (American Heart Association-Health Care Provider) successfully completed within the first 90 days of employment
