Job Summary

Administer advanced respiratory treatments, perform assessments, and monitor patient responses to ensure effective care. Accurately implement physician orders for pharmacological, diagnostic, and therapeutic agents while orienting patients to treatment modalities. Perform and document Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) punctures, manage ventilator settings, and assist with bedside procedures and pulmonary testing. Evaluate and maintain respiratory therapy equipment, ensuring adherence to safety guidelines and infection control standards. Demonstrate skill in emergency interventions and provide age-specific care for oxygen therapy across all populations. Maintain thorough documentation and collaborate effectively with healthcare teams. Requires RRT certification, ACLS, and PALS; located in Georgia with a 1-3 year acute care experience preference.

Required Qualifications

  • RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation
  • STABLE - Neonatal Certification
  • Georgia: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications
  • Successful completion of assigned SAMA course within 30 days of hire

Desired Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of respiratory experience in an acute care setting
  • Proficient in administering pharmacological, diagnostic, and therapeutic respiratory procedures
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with healthcare teams, patients, and families
  • Skilled in patient assessment, ventilator management, and airway maintenance
  • Competent in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems for documentation and reporting
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards, safety protocols, and infection control measures
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to regulatory standards
