Job Summary
Perform respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered, focusing on assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of care. Manage age and population-specific patient needs while potentially serving as a Lead RCP with departmental oversight during shifts. Operate under the direction of the medical director, cardiopulmonary director, or manager in a high-acuity critical care environment. Requires current RCP license, RRT certification, and active BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP credentials. Full-time night rotation (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) with 36 hours weekly and rotating weekends. Temporary contract for 12 weeks at Resurrection Medical Center, Illinois.
Required Qualifications
- Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) obtained within three (3) months of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
- Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the AHA or ARC
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the AHA
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate
Desired Qualifications
- Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree
- Two (2) years of acute care experience
