Job Summary
Assist physicians with respiratory therapy procedures for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Assess patients to determine suitable treatment methods, monitor physiological responses with special attention to pediatric and neonatal cases, and document treatment, equipment maintenance, and quality control activities. Transcribe physician orders, communicate treatment plans to patients and families, and provide staff and patient education.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or proof of registry eligible status
- State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure
- Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
