Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist II in NICU providing medication administration and comprehensive respiratory care in a high-acuity environment. Responsibilities include ventilator management and weaning, bronchodilatory therapies, arterial blood gas sampling and analysis, airway management (intubation/extubation/trach care), patient and family education, collaboration with the healthcare team, and participation in education of new staff and students. Emphasis on safety, adherence to protocols, documentation, and quality-improvement initiatives in a critical care setting.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program (CoARC or CAAHP) with minimally 20 quarter hours of science
- Associate’s Degree required
- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
- 0-2 yrs clinical experience with minimal 6-months critical care
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Respiratory Care Practitioner
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- ACLS
- PALS
- NRP
