Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist II (RRT) in NICU at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. Provides advanced respiratory care in critical care settings with ventilator management, arterial blood gas analysis, aerosolized medications, airway management (intubation/extubation), and education for patients, families, students and staff. Collaborates with healthcare team, ensures safe care, participates in quality initiatives, and contributes to staff development and professional growth. Requires an accredited RT program completion, AS degree (Bachelor's preferred), 0-2 years of clinical experience with critical care exposure, and multiple licensure/certification requirements (RRT, respiratory care, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, with instructor/provisional options as applicable). The role emphasizes patient care delivery, education, and adherence to policies in a hospital setting.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program (CoARC or CAAHP) with minimally 20 quarter hours of science
- Associate's Degree A.S. degree required
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- 0-2 yrs clinical experience with minimal 6-months critical care
