Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist II in NICU delivering complex respiratory care with ventilator management, airway management (intubation/extubation/trach care), aerosolized medications, ABG sampling/analysis, and weaning in critical care settings. Includes patient, family and staff education, coordination of activities, mentorship of new employees and students, and participation in quality/improvement initiatives. Requires 0-2 years clinical experience in respiratory therapy, an accredited RT education background with at least 20 science hours, and credentials including RRT and RC Practitioner, plus BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP (instructor/provisional where applicable). Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program (CoARC or CAAHP) with minimally 20 quarter hours of science
- Associate's Degree A.S. degree required
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- 0-2 years clinical experience with minimal 6-months critical care
- Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Respiratory Care Practitioner
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
- ACLS Required
- PALS Required
- NRP Required
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider Required
