Job Summary
Assess patients' respiratory status and apply appropriate therapy per medical prescriptions and departmental protocols. Perform all respiratory therapy procedures, instruct patients on prescribed treatments, and operate, clean, and maintain diagnostic and treatment equipment. Share patient care information with nursing and physicians. Assist with department research for quality assurance and performance improvement efforts. Requires current Oregon Respiratory Care Practitioner license, Associate of Applied Science in Respiratory Care, and Registered or Certified Respiratory Therapist status. BLS required; ACLS and PALS within 3 months; NRP within 6 months. At least 18 months of clinical practice in a hospital setting. Day shift, 36 hours/week, hourly base rate $37.66-$47.94.
Required Qualifications
- Current Oregon Respiratory Care Practitioner license
- Associate of Applied Science in Respiratory Care
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC)
- BLS
- ACLS & PALS
- NRP
- At least 18 months of clinical practice in a hospital setting, either as an RCP or as a participant in clinical training as part of a respiratory care program
- Knowledge of theory and application of all diagnostic and therapeutic modes of respiratory care
