Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) - Westbank

Job Summary
Provide respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing and ventilation support for patients from neonatal to geriatric. Perform RT-CRT duties including arterial blood gas analysis and EKGs, administer/intermittent therapy, assist with artificial airways, educate patients and coworkers, document clinical information, and ensure compliance with policies. Requires a Louisiana RT license, NBRC RRT, and BLS; strong computer/data-entry skills and clear communication; duties may evolve with department needs.
Required Qualifications
- Current State of Louisiana License as a Respiratory Therapist
- Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Knowledge and experience with Windows-style applications and data entry
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for patient care process
- Must be able to perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures and interpret clinical data

- Occupational exposure to blood, body fluids and tissue; ability to work in a patient-care environment; travel between facilities; ability to work a flexible schedule (24/7, weekends, holidays, on-call)
