Job Summary
Provides respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing and ventilation support to patients from neonatal to geriatric. Performs RT-CRT set-ups, monitors and weans oxygen therapy; analyzes and reports arterial blood gases and EKGs; delivers intermittent therapy and assists with changing artificial airways. Educates patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans; performs diagnostic procedures; adheres to established policies and procedures; works under physician orders. Requires Louisiana licensure as a Respiratory Therapist, NBRC RRT credential, and BLS. Proficient with data entry and Windows-based software; strong verbal and written communication. Duties may include additional responsibilities as needed and compliant with regulatory standards. This position is located in Gretna, LA and is listed as on-site (in-person).
Required Qualifications
- Current State of Louisiana License as a Respiratory Therapist
- Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Knowledge Skills and Abilities: computer skills and data entry, Windows-style applications, communication skills
