Job Summary
Conduct airway care including intubation, tracheostomy maintenance, and clearance of obstructions for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Apply and maintain invasive and non-invasive ventilation systems while determining therapy appropriateness and modifying orders as needed. Assist with patient care decision-making by communicating with physicians, nurses, and the healthcare team during emergency situations. Provide verbal and written educational materials to patients, follow critical value documentation policies, and draw blood samples to analyze and interpret results. Assemble and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment. Requires New York State Respiratory Therapist License, CoARC-accredited degree, and ACLS/PALS certifications. Salary range $53.45 - $61.44/hour.
Required Qualifications
- Associate / Bachelor of Applied Science in Respiratory Therapy from a Respiratory Therapy education program accredited by CoARC
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification
- New York State Respiratory Therapist License
- NBRC
- Basic computer skills
