Job Summary
Assess patient respiratory equipment needs, select appropriate services, and instruct clients on proper use while troubleshooting immediate or emergency problems. Communicate with physicians regarding condition changes, adjust treatment plans, and complete account paperwork including assessments and discharge planning. Act as a liaison between the company, patients, families, and healthcare agencies to resolve equipment issues and ensure compliance with all policies and government regulations. Monitor supply levels to replenish stock and participate in educational meetings to maintain professional competency.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory care program
- Thorough knowledge and skill related to respiratory care field
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
- Basic understanding of insurance requirements (Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance)
- Maintains current licensure in all states where patient care will be provided
Desired Qualifications
- Two-year hospital based respiratory care experience preferred
- One year's home care experience preferred
- Ability to effectively supervise clinical personnel
- People-sensitive characteristics with a genuine desire to help others
- Basic computer skills and knowledge
