Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist - Respiratory Services on a Per Diem 12 Hour Rotating Shift. Provides diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures (oxygen therapy, chest physiotherapy, hyperinflation therapy, aerosol/nebulizer treatments), arterial blood gas analysis, ventilator management, bronchoscopy assistance, nitric oxide monitoring, and code-blue team participation. Performs respiratory equipment setup, infection control, patient assessment, bedside care, and contributes to the interdisciplinary plan of care, with requirements for BLS/ACLS and NBRC/RCP/RRT credentials. 12-hour rotating shifts, union environment, and an hourly range of $39.00–$66.45 with USC’s equal opportunity employment considerations.
Required Qualifications
- Req High School or equivalent
- Req Excellent diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Req Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills
- Req Respiratory Care Practitioner - RCP (CA DCA)
- Req Registered Respiratory Therapist - RRT (NBRC)
- Req Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
- Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date.
