Job Summary
Manage invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, initiate and monitor airways, and obtain blood gas analyses while adhering to physician orders and departmental protocols. Perform general and critical care procedures, document tasks, and provide patient and family education. Clean and disinfect equipment between patients, maintain infection control standards, and communicate with the healthcare team, including students and nurse shadows. Report results and make treatment recommendations as appropriate. Requires an associate degree from an accredited Respiratory Care Program, RRT licensure, and certifications in BLS, NRP, PALS, and ACLS.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree
- Graduate of a Respiratory Care Program by an accredited school
- Diploma and/or equivalent experience (in lieu of associate degree)
- Respiratory Care Practitioner license in the state in which work is performed
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- BLS
- NRP, PALS, ACLS, NPS certifications as required by work unit
- Skills necessary to treat patients of all ages to include neonates, infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
