Job Summary
Assess patients to prevent, detect, monitor, and manage disease and complications; measure lung capacity to identify impairments; and provide diagnosis results and treatment suggestions based on analysis. Work across clinical areas ranging from general floors to critical care, utilizing computers for patient documentation and data gathering. Maintain current licensure and active RRT credentials while completing required orientations and competency validations. This role offers self-scheduling flexibility and includes a sign-on bonus option.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in Respiratory Care from an accredited respiratory care program
- minimum associate degree or equivalent as defined by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- thorough knowledge and understanding of all procedures, indications, contraindications and hazards involved in respiratory care
- knowledge of equipment utilized in their department
- ability and knowledge required to utilize computers for patient documentation and data gathering for quality care
- current Respiratory Therapy licensure in state(s) of practice
- multi-state licensure privileges as required by position
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials as attained through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- active status according to NBRC credentialing requirements
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- site-specific specialty credential(s) such as Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), etc.
