Job Summary
Assess patients to prevent, detect, monitor, and manage cardiopulmonary and sleep disorders while measuring lung capacity to identify impairments. Offer diagnosis results and treatment suggestions based on patient analysis across general floors, critical care, ICU, acute rehab, observation rehab, Med Surg, Ortho, PEDS, and OB units. Maintain current Respiratory Therapy licensure and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials, plus Basic Life Support certification, while completing required orientations and competency validations. Work 12-hour night shifts in a 72-hour pay period with every-other-weekend rotation, three holidays annually, and no call requirements. Required Qualifications
- A degree in Respiratory Care from an accredited respiratory care program
- minimum associate degree or equivalent as defined by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- thorough knowledge and understanding of all procedures, indications, contraindications and hazards involved in respiratory care
- knowledge of equipment utilized in their department
- ability and knowledge required to utilize computers for patient documentation and data gathering for quality care
- current Respiratory Therapy licensure in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by position
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials as attained through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- active status according to NBRC credentialing requirements
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- site-specific specialty credential(s) such as Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), etc.
