Job Summary
Assess patients to prevent, detect, monitor, and manage cardiopulmonary disorders; measure lung capacity to identify impairments; and offer diagnosis results and treatment suggestions based on analysis. Provide therapeutic intervention and education across clinical areas ranging from general floors to ICU, acute rehab, observation rehab, Med Surg, Ortho, PEDS, and OB. Maintain current Respiratory Therapy licensure and RRT credentials while completing required orientations, competency validations, and in-servicing. Work 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend rotation and no call requirements. Join a team-oriented department within Sanford Health's Bemidji Medical Center.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in Respiratory Care from an accredited respiratory care program
- minimum associate degree or equivalent as defined by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- thorough knowledge and understanding of all procedures, indications, contraindications and hazards involved in respiratory care
- knowledge of equipment utilized in their department
- ability and knowledge required to utilize computers for patient documentation and data gathering for quality care
- current Respiratory Therapy licensure in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by position
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials as attained through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- active status according to NBRC credentialing requirements
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- site-specific specialty credential(s) such as Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), etc.
