Job Summary
Part-time Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) provides respiratory care to patients, assesses needs, plans and delivers therapies including aerosolized medications, secretion management, oxygen therapy, pulmonary volume expansion, and assists with routine care and maintenance of artificial airways. Initiates and manages conventional and high-frequency mechanical ventilators per protocol, educates patients and families, and assists in intra-hospital transport. Performs age-appropriate care planning, communication with the care team, and supports discharge planning for respiratory-related needs. Work hours are 7:00 am–7:30 pm and 11:00 am–7:30 pm, every other weekend and holiday. Certifications required within specified timeframes include ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS, NBRC credentials (RRT/CRT), and neonatal resuscitation, aligning with the role at Geisinger GWV.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy
- Licensed/Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC)
- ACLS,BLS,NRP,PALS certifications or equivalent
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
- Experience with arterial blood gas sampling and ventilator management
