Job Summary
PFL Respiratory Therapist performs diagnostic tests such as spirometry, diffusion testing, lung volumes, airway resistance, and more, and may also administer respiratory therapies and educate patients. Responsibilities include calibrating/maintaining diagnostic equipment, responding during emergencies (CPR), cross-training in Pulmonary Rehab, student precepting, orienting new employees, and scheduling assistance. Requires NBRC RRT credentials, state licensure, and BLS; site-specific credentials (NRP/ACLS/PALS) may be required.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in Respiratory Care from an accredited respiratory care program is required; minimum associate degree or equivalent as defined by the NBRC.
- Must have current Respiratory Therapy licensure in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by position.
- Must have Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials as attained through the NBRC and maintain active status according to NBRC credentialing requirements.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required. Must obtain site-specific specialty credential(s) such as NRP, ACLS, PALS, etc.
