Job Summary
Administer respiratory care as ordered, including arterial puncture analysis, blood gas interpretation, and ventilator troubleshooting. Perform daily preventative maintenance on equipment, manage airway procedures such as intubation and extubation, and assist during bronchoscopy. Monitor patient status using laboratory results and vital signs to evaluate therapy effectiveness, while documenting all assessments and care plans. Respond to codes, perform CPR, and provide patient education to families and staff. Complete mandatory training and adhere to infection prevention policies.
Required Qualifications
- Valid NJ State Respiratory Care Practitioner License
- RRT certification by National Board for Respiratory Care
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- NRP certification required within 60 days of hire
- Night Shift
- Part Time Schedule
- 36 hours/week
- Night Shift ($4.00hr)
- Demonstrate knowledge and skill in the use of Oxygen Therapy, BiPAP, CPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannulas (HFNC)
- Demonstrate Knowledge and skill in the use of invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation
- Assess effectiveness of therapy three times per shift
- Comply with all Department, Infection Prevention, and Safety policies and procedures
- Demonstrate knowledge of National Patient Safety Goals and relevant Standards from Joint Commission, Department of Health, CMS and other regulatory bodies
- Consistently meets the attendance guidelines according to RWJBH Policy
- Complete all mandatory Competencies within specified timeframe
- Complete all Net Learning online training within specified timeframe
- Attend external and internal educational programs as part of continuing education
- Assures appropriateness for continuation of discontinuation of therapy
- Determine priorities and organizes work and time to meet them
- The ability to function in a diverse workforce
- Interact tactfully, constructively and diplomatically with others
