Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders, including polysomnography, diagnostic, and therapeutic services. Perform tracheostomy care, difficult procedures, and therapeutic interventions while preparing and calibrating testing equipment. Score sleep studies, document clinical events, and adapt communication styles for diverse patient populations. Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations and ensure adherence to safety and privacy standards. Work a flexible schedule including 24/7 coverage, weekends, holidays, and on-call availability.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Licensed as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPGST), Sleep Disorder Specialist (SDS) or Registered Sleep Tech (RST)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through American Heart Association
- Must be able to stoop, bend, reach and grab with arms and hands, manual dexterity
- Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to travel throughout and between facilities
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule (24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability)
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency and skills to prioritize tasks
