Job Summary
Conduct respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support for neonatal to geriatric in-patients and out-patients. Set up, monitor, and wean oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation; draw, analyze, and report Arterial Blood Gases and EKGs. Deliver intermittent therapy and assist with changing artificial airways while reviewing and documenting all clinical information. Educate patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans, adapting communication styles to specific patient populations. Perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to established policy and procedures. Work flexible 24/7, weekend, and holiday schedules with on-call availability in a patient care area.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
- Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- ACLS obtained in 90 days
- Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must be able to stoop, bend, reach and grab with arms and hands, manual dexterity
- Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to travel throughout and between facilities
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule (24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability)
